Dr. Sumi Gupta is a distinguished journalist and communications professional with over three decades of global experience across industries and geographies—from the UK and India to the United States and beyond. Her work is uniquely positioned at the intersection of journalism, corporate communication, sustainable development, and social impact.

She is the Editor-in-Chief of Tatsat Chronicle, India’s first magazine dedicated exclusively to the governance and development sector. Through this platform, she is committed to amplifying underrepresented narratives and fostering a deeper understanding of governance and development.

Dr. Gupta brings over 25 years of leadership experience across the UK, Philippines, Costa Rica, India, the US, and Australia. She has held key roles at the Chairman’s Office of Reliance Industries Limited and the Essar Group, where she led strategic initiatives in corporate communications, brand building, and crisis management across sectors including retail, oil & gas, steel, and information technology. She has held leadership roles in Communications and Public Relations at organizations including WNS Global Services, SmithKline Beecham, JD Group, and Mascon Global, with cross-sector experience spanning IT, Finance & Insurance, Pharmaceuticals, and Retail.

Sumi Gupta completed her schooling at Convent of Jesus & Mary, New Delhi. She earned her undergraduate degree in Commerce from the University of Delhi and pursued her MBA from Symbiosis University, Pune. She later obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from University of Lucknow and a Master’s in International Banking and Financial Services from the University of Reading, UK. Gupta is also an alumna of the Harvard Executive Leadership Programme. In 2021, she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Social Service by the Royal American University for her contributions to the sector.
